Dust responsible for snowmelt at higher elevation in western Himalayan Region, study says

Melting of snow is highly influenced by black carbon emissions. The dust particles gets deposited in the Western Himalayan Region from as far as Saudi Arabia. The black carbon highly contributes in darkening of snow and melting of snow at higher elevations. This editorial explains how dust is responsible for snowmelt at higher elevation in western Himalayan Region. The topic is highly important from the point of Environment in GS mains III.
