The Union govt. has allowed the use of Hydroxychloroquine in combination with Azithromycin under close monitoring for patients with severe disease and requiring ICU management as per the revised Guidelines on Clinical Management of COVID–19. Earlier on 27th March 2020 the govt. had notified Hydroxychloroquine as a schedule H1 drug which meant that it could sold only on prescription.
